Hello!
This is my first post. I'm hoping one of you experts can answer my question.
Two years ago I rooted a couple Pussy Willow trees from stalks I had purchased at a road-side stand. I planted one of the stalks and WOW!!! The tree has gone crazy. It's HUGE! TALL!
I had to cut it back some last year because it was crossing into my neighbor's driveway.
The tree is full and lush ... but I haven't had a single catkin appear. Not one!
I've read that there are male and female trees ... I don't know which mine is.
Do I need both a male and a female tree in the area in order to get catkins? Or, does it just take a couple years with a new tree?
Thanks for any advice ya'll may have.

flowers grow on last year's wood, not this year's wood. the pruning is why no flowers.

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!
