i have beautiful grapevines, but the grapes dry up and fall off before they ripen. does anyone have any ideas on what would cause this?

thanks so much.

rstewart3,
Can you tell us a bit more about the growing conditions of the grapes...
What kind of soil are they in?
Regular garden soil, bagged soil, if so, what kind?

Are they in the ground type garden or a raised bed like?

What kind of watering happened?
Over head, only rain?
and what time of day did you water?

Is the soil mulched?

Did you use Fertilizers, if so, what kind, how often, when applied *ie: time of day, morning, night*

And how was your weather this growing season?
Hot, dry, cold??

And also, how old are the grapevines?

And have you pruned them before?

****Whew, that's alot of questions, but I also wanted to say, Welcome Aboard the Garden Helper's Forum, we're verrrrrrrry glad you found us**** [thumb] [clappy] [flower]

the grapevines are my aunts. they built a new house on their farm, the field has been used for hay as well cow pasture. they were set 5 - 10 years ago and are set out on a hill. they are framed up and have beautiful foilage but the grapes have always dried up and fallen before they get ripe enough to pick. last year she fertilized them, thinking that would help, no difference. this year she didn't and no difference again. i don't know if she's pruned them.
thank you for replying.

How are the bees around that area?
Do you see many?

How's the water supply??
