Ditzzy,
My first question to you would be....
How cold does it get around your area????
I know grapes need to be cold/dormant time to produce a good grape??? It's the cool nights at a certain time I thought that gave the grape it's flavor???

I'm in zone 4 and I have a Concord grape vine, I don't know about the other varieties though.

A lot of grapes won't do well in the south because of disease problems, but Edible Landscapes.com has 2 dessert grapes and 1 muscadine for wine that will do well in the south.
