you know, a thought would be is what was in the snow as you shoveled it? salt (and vinegar) are very good "weed" killers and weed killers will kill all plants... and grass is just a nice weed.

there was alot of sand and dirt in the snow i didn't use any ice-melt stuff on the driveway this year though the spots that are just bare earth are the closest parts near the road. i didn't see any "plow" marks either????
