Your Pachira is better off left in the same pot.
You don't have to braid them. They don't grow that way naturally. That is just a technique used by growers to make them look more interesting and to command higher prices.
They can only be braided when they are very young and still pliable and all in the same small pot.
Provide bright indirect light. Water it when the top inch of soil is dry. Don't transplant it.
