I'm trying to identify a small vine houseplant. Being a new member, I have yet to learn how to include the JPG formatted photo. Do I email it to someone? Or do I post it myself?

[wayey] Hello Russ,
I'd like to Welcome you to
The Garden Helpers Forum......
I am not toooooo big into house plants,
but what I'm going to do besides
WELCOME YOU!!, I'm going to move your
post into the HOUSE PLANT section......
We have some gardeners that are strickly
house plant gardeners and tend to stick
in that area, so, for them as well as
the other gardeners that check all the catagories
can better answer your question there..........

I want to make sure you know we are very glad
you found us, and I hope you'll enjoy your visits
here, take a minute or two or three, or 6 months,
and look around and get to know the grand bunch of gardeners that we've accumilated....we have a little bit of everything here from Master Gardeners to brand new gardeners and everything in between!! So, I'm sure some one will come through soon, and help you with your question!!

Weezie

We also have added alot of new sections here, from some of our own recipes, to crafts, hobbies, games, and banter hall for chatting.......

I did notice on your Profile you've listed BEES...
Would you tell us some more about them??
I some day in my future, I would LOVE to have bees, *I live in town, so right now, I can't have them* but I been recieving a catalog called Dadant Bee Keeping Catalog

We also have a few members from your state,
There's BIG BOY, he's into tomatoes and corn, and we just had them join, Phil and Laura, Phil's into BIG pumpkins and Laura has house plants, and
LF from MC too!

[wayey] hey russ [wayey] welcome to the garden helper. to get a plant identified here, you have a few options. the first thing i would do is to post a detailed description in the mystery plants section.
then you can upload the picture to a website like webshots (the accounts are free and really easy to use) or if you have a home page you can post a link to that.
the last option, is to email bill, the webmaster, and ask him if he will post it for you.

again, welcome, and we will get your plant identified asap!

I've tried all manner of catalogs & book without success to ID this plant. Here is the discription: Non-woody vine in a 3" hanging pot. Leaf is 2.5mm [max] elliptical, arranged opposite with pinnate venation. Plant blooms several times a year and is self fruitful. Flowers are Red tubular 7mm in groups of two or three developing 4 cm seed pods that release sticky dandelion like seeds. The plant also develops bladders that are kidney shaped [6 cm by 4 cm] with interior root development.
Germination rates have been good but I've been unable to establish new plants. Bladders have also failed to root when in ground contact both attached and seperated from the mother plant.
Anyone else have such a plant?

ok Russ, that is a great description. unfortunately, i have not ever seen a plant quite like that. however, bill, our webmaster, or will, one of our regulars will be along, and perhaps they can help you. or one of our master gardeners (we have several). i will also be on the look out for something like that!

Hi Russ,
Hold tight, I'm sure we have a few more gardeners to come through..
Nikkal may, Papito might, Phil........ ???,

I may also try to copy this post and put it in the Mystery section???????????? [dunno]
Huechurea and Lizheaemma are pretty good guessers toooo!!!

I'll see if I can do that???

Can we ask where you bought this from?????????
That may also help us narrow it down!

A grocery store, nursery, catalog,??????
And when did you buy?~~~~The time of year
they were selling it and if you remember when
(or what time of year or season it bloomed)

Thanks for your holding tight, we're hopin'
they'll be coming through............

Hi Russ,

If you e-mail a photo to me at wcreed@HorticulturalHelp.com, I may be able to help.

I assume you mean cm. not mm. when describing size.

Russ,
Can we ask you if you are into house plants alot
and if you have more??
And how you do what you said about probagating.
You sound very knowledgeable on plants..
Do you study them, or go to school for them?
Just very curious...
Love information on plants, can never have too much!!
