Ok now I've read that they dislike chlorine and that you should let your water sit out overnight to remove chlorine from tap water. My question is is it safe to just aquarium dechlorinators to treat the water to use on violets or is that not such a good idea?

Hi there! Welcome to the forum! [wavey]

I have do it both ways, however I greatly prefer to just leave water out overnight, or take some out of my freshwater fish tank.

yes you can use those dechlorinators. i'd leave them for those times you don't have any water that's been left to sit handy tho.

i bought a couple of gallon jugs of water - used it and then kept the containers and just keep refilling them. i fill them almost to the top (more surface area available for the chlorine to dissapate) and let them sit over night without the cap on. i top them off and let sit again without the cap then i cap them and store until in need to water the plants again.
