Yep Tammy they are related to Av's. I just happened to stumble across them this afternoon, and thought I would ask if anyone has grown them.

They do have a cool structure. But I've killed the only av I've gotten close to and the gloxianna too so I'm not ready to try anything in that family of plants yet. Good luck with it.
