Bill,
I'm sure they had an amazing life time living with someone who likes animals so much. It's hard to say good~bye to a good friend, just think of him off playing in the fields of flowers, and chasin' mice.
It's hard to fill the hole they leave behind,
but find something to do instead and keep yourself busy.
(Like ya don't have enough to do) wink wink!

Oh I'm so sorry Bill. I know Rowdy Kitty will always hold a special place in your heart. 18 years is a good life especially having the opportunity of a life time in your neck of the woods. How did you come up with the name Rowdy Kitty?

Rowdy Kitty looks like a delightful creature. I lost one who looked something like him seven years ago. She's buried out in the garden under an old sundial. I still go out and say a few words to her sometimes.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss.

Bess,
I like that idea!!
What a wonderful way to remember a family member like that. We've had several dogs and cats over the years, and my dad made a little memorial area for our dogs (mother and I had an area for the cats, he wasn't much for cats, he was a DOGS MAN!!!) but we planted perennials in back of them. And we think of them,
But that's an idea with the sundial, imagine you could take birdbath, or sheppard's hook and windchimes or even a gazing ball.
I've heard they even have little head stones for them too!!!

Bill, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure Rowdy had a wonderful life with you. Here's a little story that helped me during the loss of a pet. You may have seen it before, but I hope it helps you, too.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
