Hi ND, the big plant is a yucca. They are evergreen and have beautiful white blooms in the summer. My only complaint is they can be VERY hard to get rid of. Plant it only in a place you want it forever.

It took FOREVER to rip out all of the vinca and amend the horrible clay soil.
I wanted to thank plantingnewb for the soil recipe and Joclyn for coming over to help haul out the tons of landscaping rocks that were there. Thanks to everyone else for all of the great advice and suggestions. I feel like I'm on the Emmy's, lol. I'm so glad I found this forum!!
