Howdy folks! Am trying to identify a tree or large shrub that I saw while walking in the Dallas area. This tree has leaves that looks like a marijuana plant, but the blooms on it look and smell exactly like a Butterfly bush. I have looked at many varieties of Buddleia and haven't found anything that has leaves like that. The owner of the tree says that he's positive that it's not a butterfly bush, but doesn't remember the name. The tree is about 15 feet tall and he says it's about 7 years old. Any help would be appreciated. Peace.

They are Vitex Shrubs ( Vitex Agnus castus) " Chaste Tree"
They are not really a tree, but can be grown as one

They have beautiful blue-purople floral spikes about 10 " long that bloom in June/July.

They are a butterfly/bee magnet.

I have a small one, but we have a big tree that use to be My husbands Mom's house.
