Forsythia is a cane so if you can divide a clump you shouldn't have a problem. I don't know about the other kind sorry.

If you take a forsythia cane and stick it in the ground it will grow.

I've always gotten a bit of root when I've transplanted forsythia.

My Dad has both a forsythia and a fire bush (or is it a burning bush)and I was hoping to take cuttings from his plants and bringing them here. But I am honestly at a loss on how do go about doing this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
