Would it be in the best interest of the plant to pinch the bud off?

I'm not a believer in removing the young flowers on any vegies, but some people do like them to get a more developed root system first. If the plant is capable of reproduction then the fruit will set i reckon. If not, it will probably drop the flower. Up to you really.

I planted an egg-plant one week ago. I got it from walmart. It now has 3-4 leaves, but it has also developed a flower bud. Would it be in the best interest of the plant to pinch the bud off?
