Another frog with a GREAT HAIRDO, Lynne!
Purple one's to boot!
She looks like Medusa!
I gotta find me some of those outdoor frog planters, I'd have to pull them in for the winter,
but they are so cute.!!!
Weezie
P.S. They should shoot off babies off the side when it's done flowering, I would think.

Beautiful coloring on that sempervivum.
Whenever my semps bloom the plant dies, but before it dies, it also has sent out a ring of babies all the way around the plant. Does yours have babies?

I'm going outside right now to see if I can find any babies hidden under the leaves. This was the biggest hen that I've ever bought, and I didn't think that all the babies it had when I purchased it would flower now too. The leaves are pretty big and stiff, so I'll see if I can peak under them.

do you have those stores near you?
I, also, need to take all my garden accessories inside during the winter -
you don't wanna to look at my garage then!!!
My husband hates the clutter - oh well...!

Lynne,
I can think of a couple of things on your plant as to why they all flowered (maybe)
1. The pot is too warm *or warms up faster* becaused it's "raised" area *(which warms up faster and is generally a warmer area)
and those types of plants like it cooler.
*so maybe it felt "threatened" by the heat and felt it really needed to 1) produce babies to "move" out of it's warm space and 2) to produce seeds to go to a different space as well.
Does that make sense???
2. Maybe the dirt was too rich for it.
Those plants can survive in the barronous *is that a word?* dirt, lacking nutrients actually does them better. So, if you used a potting soil, it'll say, hey, I gotta get out of this dirt and go somewhere's else.
Weezie
But I love it just the same.
Cool colors and neat way it's just doin' it's thing!
