I teach preschool and we are discovering insects right now. We read a story about spiders this morning and one of my preschoolers wanted to know why female spiders die after they lay eggs. I have searched the web and I can't seem to find the answer. Does anybody know off hand, why spiders die after they lay eggs? Any help would be appreciated.
