Search The Garden Helper:
1st bowl
Mix together
¾ cup graham cracker crumbs ½ tsp. baking powder
1 cup pecans *chopped*
2nd bowl
Beat 3 eggs whites until stiff, add 1 cup sugar and beat, not too long, add 1 tsp vanilla fold 1st bowl into second bowl with a spoon. Pour into buttered pie plate
Bake at 350* for 20 to 22 minutes.
I bake mine in my oven at 325* watch closely and do not let it burn.
Top with cool whip—makes one (1) pie
Chess Pie
1 ½ cup sugar 1 stick oleo (melted- don’t get too hot)
1 tablespoon vinegar 1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix well and pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 350* for 30 minutes. If it shakes after 30 minutes of cooking bake longer.
*Note: for chocolate chess pie add 1 tablespoon cocoa
Makes 1 pie
