Has anyone else grown it from seed? I started some of the tricolor, sometimes called Summer Poinsettia, several weeks ago. It germinated quickly, but doesn't seem to be growing. When they got to be about 2 in. tall I potted them individually, but none of them has grown higher than 3 in. after 3 weeks. I've tried fertilizer, but still no growth. Any ideas or suggestions? Are they slow to grow at first and then zoom up later in the summer? They are supposed to get 3-4 ft. tall.

I have grown Joseph's Coat & I am again this year in my new yard. From my past experience with this plant I have found it likes humidity, full sun, and it will also tolerate some dryness. If planted in part shade it loses it brilliance of color & turns green. It has been a quick grower for me, and I have never fertilized the soil with anything but compost.
