HI [wayey] Troy the texas star will bloom once a year but will have multiple blooms on your plant that will bloom at diffrent times i grow red ones.they also come in white. you can also collect the seeds from them to plant to get more plants from.they will put on seed pods after they bloom let the pods turn brown befor you pull them for seeds. i fertalize mine twice a year once when they start coming up then again soon as you see the first bloom coming on.this one is to get healty growth for the plant and then second time is to produce a lot more blooms.i use a all around fertilizer 13-13-13 on mine keep it watered real well abought twice a week.but there are organtic ways to fertilize them to. i am sure you will get more imformation abought that from others in here.hope this helps.good luck with your texas star. your friend in gardening.mike57 [wayey] [flower] [flower]

I don't know WHERE you are in TX,but if your further south you'll want some afternoon shade, but they will handle full sun if watered well and use mulch your plant will love you for it.I make my fertilizer, but use one with high midle# also for blooms.
