I have little black and yellow bugs on my cucumber, watermelon and pumpkin plants that are eating the leaves at a rapid rate. They are not bothering the tomatoes, lettuce or green pepper plants. Does anyone know what these are and what I can use to get rid of them. I would appreciate any responses.

Cucumber Beetles...
I had squwishhhhhhhhh....
But there's stuff from Garden's Alive/Liquid Rotenone/Pyrethrin
You can also use something like this earlier next time, before they can get on top of your plants...
Super-Light Insect Barrier
The Cucumber Beetle like Yellow flowers..
and they can spread a disease too...
they cause bacterial wilt disease.

As they like yellow flowers, they can be trapped using a yellow sticky trap. Use a yellow piece of plastic and smear it with petroleum jelly/vaseline whatever you call it. Hang it around the plant on a length of wire just above and outside the plant extremities. The insects will be attracted to the yellow and get stuck to the jelly. Shame about that!

I remember the second year I gardened,
went hogggggggg wild on plants....
Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Acorn Squash,
Sunflowers, Cucumbers, Pumpkins....
I had those things on EVERY YELLOW
FLOWER I OWNED....
I would be out 'til 1:00am in the morning
with a flashlight squwishing those pesky
critters.........Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
But I am proud to say, last year I only had a handfull of them, still stuck to squwishin' them
but it's alot of hard work..
