The leaves of my digitalis are being eaten by probably snails or other creatures. What environmentally safe, organic, and pet safe can I use? Also how do I figure out which Planting ZONE we are in. Sonoma County, northern California.
Thanks.

Hi Gardener, great handle;)
the best way to get snails and slugs is to go out at night with a flashlight and pick em up. They're very easy to find. Otherwise, a sprinkle of any dry product on the ground around the plants will work. This can be sawdust, cat litter granules, (not second hand ones) eggshells, gravel etc. The stuff dries the snails out and they can't travel on it. Lots more fun with a couple of little kids and a flashlight though:)
