Companion gardening?

All i know is Marigold keep bugs off the plants. Veggies....
Geraniums do too.
I think tomato an potato are enemies..nite side veggies ..( not good for gout0
Potatoes will bring on more fat bugs then you bargain for......
thats all i can remember..
