Our lemon tree is just starting to get tiny lemons, but it's covered in ants. What can I do to get rid of the ants, but not harm thr fruit?

Thanks.

Look on the trunk and branches for aphids. My Meyer had ants, and when I inspected the tree, there were aphids everywhere.
I got them off by spraying with laundry soap in water, and rubbing my fingers (ick) up and down, killing the aphids. Then I hosed thoroughly to rinse. Never had another aphid, not even one, and the soap treatment didn't harm my tree at all.

my pear tree had ants all over it yesterday [Eek!] then I saw they were taking inchworms off it down to their nests. [clappy] We are having an infestation of tent caterpillars, gypsy moths and inch worms. Probbly wont be any leaves on the mountain again this summer. So I like those ants for eating the inch worms and I know the flickers will come eat the ants [clappy]
