I've got an early richmond cherry tree and it's doing fine. It's in the front yard and still very small, probably 3 1/2' , just a baby, but we've gotten as many as 15 cherries one year, last year only three??? The hummingbirds love to perch in this lil tree.

Was looking at fruit trees at Walmart- they have a 4x1 cherry tree (4 diffent kinds of cherries grafted in one tree). Most multi grafts will self pollinate, and give you a taste of a few different kinds of fruit of the same type. They are a little more challenging to grow as you need to keep the branches balanced, so one cultivar dosnt overtake. The cost was 24 dollars for the trees, they looked very nice!

I have lots of fruit trees but no cherries, and not enough room for cross pollinators. What sort of soil do they like?
