Would you cultivate more or less frequently than usual during very dry weather?

I would think less. I like to hoe when the soil is just beginning to dry out after a rain. Not too soon, when the soil would get clumpy, but before it drys out totally and starts to get hard. After you've hoed, you shouldn't have to worry much about it till it's rained again or you water the garden.

Since I used to live on the prairies during droughts I know the answer is less...and if you have mulch use it.
