I have a foundation bed in the front of my house about 34 ft long and and about 2 and 1/2 ft wide. I am also facing North east [Roll Eyes] . My question is: Does a garden bed look better when it is so full that you can't see the mulch or something in between?

I'd say that's presonal preference. I like mine really full. I like all my beds really full because I hate to weed. And the closer and thicker the plants the less weeding.

I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once.

Tamara,
I'd have to say the same thing Belinda said...
Personal choice....

I'm with her too on the more you fill it the less you have to weed...

But others' like it open with a plant here and a plant there...

What do you like?????????? [critic] [dunno] ????????

I am in total agreement with suzy and Weezie, it is personal choice,, and I am also one who likes my beds as full of flowers and plants as I can get, using a tiered effect going taller to shorter - back to front...... Even my wildflower bed, I reseed each spring to keep it almost over full. [nutz] [Big Grin] [muggs]
