They do indeed put off seeds! After they are done blooming you will see the seed pods forming. Wait until they mature and pick them when they are just about to open.

You know what is so weird? I bought a white one 3 years ago....planted it, it was great....last year it didn't come up at all....seriously--I thought it was a goner. This year it's up and blooming!
