I'd guess it's some type of thistle. You should post this topic in the "mystery plants" section...the people here love to identify the things they find in that section!

Lynne...I've only seen "wild ageratum," but it looks very much like your link. I think the above flower has a looser structure...though very similar.

Okay, Lynne, the more I think about it, thistle is usually only one large blossom. Ageratum of some type is actually more likely than thistle. I think Ras should post in the mystery section, 'cause I know RugbyHukr would nail it!
