bees in strawberry plant

hi!last summer the bees took over my strawberry plant.they would leave hollowed out shells of strawberrys.i had nothing.i even got stung on my fingertip while trying to pick one!!what can i do this year?thanks!

Kitten,
What color were they?
They sound like yellow jackets, they like sweet stuff to eat....
They have those traps that they go in and don't come out..
I have heard of the homemade ones, where you take a soda/pop bottle and cut the top portion of the bottle off, and you turn that top part upside down and put it in to the bottom portion...
Put in sugar and little bit of water into it,
this wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwiiiiiiiiilllllllllll attract them, but theoretically they go in and don't come out! Keep it off to the side or in back. Maybe keep moving it??
Or apply a netting over it after you start to see the formation of berries, and periodically open it to let pollenator's in and make some more strawberries and cover again!

hello!!yes--they were yellow jakets.i will try what you said!thank you.and i am from ny and i work with a weezie who loves to garden,so when i saw you too were from ny,i thought you could be her!!ahrc-is where we work.it is a school for handicapped children!sorry to have confused you!!!thanks again!!!
