How do I split my hostas? I have three together that I would like to split. Can I just pull them out of the ground?
Thanks

dig them up and cut or break them apart.

I don't even bother digging them up, I just shove a shovel right down the center, and lift out the half I am transplanting, and tuck the half still in the ground w/dirt, and give er a drink. LOL

I used to keep them in the ground and use a shovel to split them; but, I've found it's better to dig them up so I can see just where I want to divide them. [thumb] Then I pot them up or plant them in the ground depending on what I want to do with them. [Wink]
