Syngonium grows along the ground or climbs up tree trunks in its natural habitat. It is not built to support itself.
To get a "mounded look," you would have to plant many plants in the same pot, provide lots of strong light, and prune the back whenever they got tall enough to lean over.

Is there any way to make a syngonium which wants to drape over the pot and vine, stand up straight short of staking it to a piece of wood or something? I'd prefer the mounded look but it clearly wants to drape over.
