Hello n warm regards fr nmlAlba of Malaysia... recently i ordered two peony...dunno what to call them...buds??....from bloomingbulbs.com ... i wonder if peonies can thrive in da hot climate of Malaysia..?? Or do they NEED d cold periods b4 they can produce flowers.. is coldness/coolness REALLY THAT ESSENTIAL for them..??those in d know...please help...i've got a deep pink azalea in my garden..had a lot of flowers..but at da moment none at all!!

Peonies are one of my favorite plants.
They do really well here where I live because we have freezing temps in the winter and nice warm summers.

Peonies do Not need the cold (I know because I have two of them and we have had the hottest winter on record, not even a good frost and they are blooming up a storm. Hope that helps.
