Hi, I have a houseplant that is infested with mealybugs. First of all, is there any specific reason the plant could have developed these bugs?...I inherited it from the previous owner of the apartment and apparently it had been fine for years. Second, does it make sense to take a cutting (which I have thoroughly cleaned off) to try and grow a new plant and discard the infested one? Thanks a lot...I would really appreciate any help.
