Hi, Big Jim here:

Can anyone find detailed information about where these trees can grow in Florida? I cannot find any information on this. If I could grow one in Tampa, I would love to help out the species.

Thanks in advance,

Big Jim

I'm sorry Jim but it appears that Georgia is the outter range for the American Chestnut. But it is a wonderful thought.

Well if I ever get that second home I want up in Georgia, I'll be planting some chestnut trees. [Smile]

With global warming you may want to try for South Carolina for your second home. I know some things that should do fine in zone 7 are refusing to bloom because it's to hot. Just a thought.
