My husband knocked one of the heads off my dragon tree that I have had for years. Is there anyway I can encourage this to root and grow? Sorry - have no clue about gardening or house plants only a beginner, any help much appreciated!!

Thanks!

How much of the head did he chop off?
and yes you can attempt to let it grow new roots by placing it in water not sure how long to do this tho iv just recently done this myself...it is known as Propagation when u cut off the top 2 or 3 inches of the plant and get them to grow new roots hope this helps...

Thanks! He took the whole of one head off except for 1 lonely leaf which is left hanging on. I will try putting it in water - do I need to add anything to the water like fertilizer or anything?
