Hello Everyone. We kind of filled in this old well, We always used to play on it when we were little, buit for some reason now it makes me nervous, so we threw a bunch of potting and garden soil on it, and its made a nice little future flower bed. Now here is the thing, I want to plant something on that so no one or no animal walks on it for safety reasons. But I need to plant something that comes back every year that I don't have to fuss with and that needs no care... What do you guys think? I don't want a bush or tree or anything like that....Any ideas??

hmm, no tree or bush, I was thinking it would be a nice spot for a Barberry Bush, Hawthorn or may be some roses, something thorny. Other than that I don't know, maybe some big Hostas, they take care of themselves.

Did you say you have a picture of your area??

Is the area round, like in the middle of the property, or up against a spot or something,
like a wall or house or tree..

Full sun????

How big is the growing area???

I was thinking a bush with thorns on it..
so no one would go there too.

Maybe a small little picket fence around it and some hibiscus? The fence would have a duel purpose, keep things off of it and staking the hibiscus a little. And from what I can gather hibiscus take care of them self pretty much!

Now that would look cute [thumb] ,
a short white picket fence around
the entire square...and flowers inside [flower] [flower]
and some tall flowers in the middle and
shorter to the outside..

Or one of those 8' metal wind mills..
and plant underneath it....
*my mom got one and we're going to
put it together in the next coming week*

Or a big garden statue of some sorts,
like that have from TOSCANO STATUARY
There's all of these catagories..

**Dianna,
I'm not too sure of how many cactus's would
survive a deep freeze???? *Zone 5 or 6...
I think she'd have to pull it in for the winter, and keep it in a pot.

Is that what growing zone you are in??
