Orange Color Gardenia

As of the past few months I've been doing the yardwork at our home. I don't know much about gardening so I ask alot of questions. There are 2 gardenia plants in my yard that I've chosen as favorites. One has miniature blossoms and the other is your average size. This is the very first time I've picked one of the average size and began to notice that it turned to a beautiful yellow. The others would turn brown at the tips and eventually brown all over. Today's the 6th day since I've picked it and from white to yellow, it's now turned a beautiful orange with no brown showing. Is this normal?

Hi. [wayey]
I don't know anything about gardenias.
Just stopped here to welcome you to the Gardener's Forum!
Someone here will be able to help you, though.

Nice to meet you!
Cindy

[dunno] Ok, I admit, I don't know anything about them either. I just wanted to say Hello and Welcome! [wayey]
