I have just purchased a small (32" tall) West Grove Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum)*does happy dance because it is beautiful*

And I was wondering if I can safely keep it in a pot? I have heard they are slow growers, but I don't know much about them. I would love to keep it in a container for as long as possible, but I will put it in the ground if it is necessary for good plant health.

Any helpful advice? [Smile]

The family tree is worth bragging about if it has consistently produced good timber, and not just nuts.
