I can't post my Cherokee Purple's. I lost them during the deluge here earlier. Most of them had split open terribly.
Here is my best looking Black Krim:
I've gotta upload my BW Sudduth pics. I'll add them in a few.

Where do you get your seeds Mator Sandwich? The colors of both the inside and outside of those tomatoes is incredible. It looks like I need to learn a lot more about tomato varieties.

Amigatec.....How did it turn out?
quote: Mator, how large do you figure that LC is/was?
John....it was 4.75 by 4.25 inches and 3.75 inches thick. I can paste a pic with it next to a measuring tape. I don't have an accurate means to weigh them yet so I can't give you that.

WEEZIE!!!!.....Now which finger was that????

Rosepetal.....These tomatoes can be grown with little experience. (I know) I have been around gardening off and on throughout my life but have only gotten serious about it for 2 years.

Skeeter.....I learned most of my information about open pollinated seeds and OP seeds categorized as heirlooms from web searches on Google. I also bought my seeds online. There are many seed distributors out there, but I happened to use victory seed and also heirloom seeds.
Everyone needs to keep in mind that I am the farthest thing from an expert or master gardener or even a good gardner at this point. This is only my second year at growing 'real' tomatoes. I have grown veggies off and on all my life. It wasn't until a friend and fellow co-worker gave me a tomato that his father grew that I became aware and interested in OP's and heirlooms. It made the best mater sandwich and hence 'Mator Sandwich'. Now I am sliding down this slippery slope and enjoying a new world of flavors. I have so very little knowledge but it is growing by the day. It seems the more I learn the faster I slide!
This is my first year of getting a good harvest of 'real' maters and I am enjoying photo logging them.
Thanks for all the great comments.
Lastly and most importantly, If I can do this anyone can!!!!

Love the maters Mator!! I haven't had any ripe ones yet, but have eaten some fried green maters this past Sunday...they were so good that I don't know if I will EVER have any ripe ones!!
I think I am going to try to build my own recipe, it was ok, but it called for White Wine, I used White Grape Juice and some Rice Vinegar instead.
Next time I am going to cook them down in a pot, run them through the Food Mill, and then reduce them in the crock pot. I think this will make a better sauce.
