Wow Barb! Beautiful, I've never saw one of those before! I love it! [thumb]
by TulsaRose on August 29, 2006 08:32 AM
That is sooooooo pretty, Barb...almost looks like fine silk. [Wink] I've never grown them but I understand they make good bog garden plants and will even grow in water. Do you know which cultivar it is? Maybe Hymenocallis eucharidifolia? I think the others bloom in early spring.

Thanks for posting that great picture!

ha ha ha

Here is an easy way.. Put down a plastic sheet or table cloth or something, in the shape of whatever you wish, anchor it with weights......
Let it lay till spring, by then all will be dead and all you do, is run the tiller thr it??????

I am gonna try that method.

How on earth did I miss this thread???? That bloom is fabulous! Maybe you can dig up the bulb and replant next spring since it isn't hardy for your zone. Wow, I'm still drooling [clappy]

it's possible it will have babies - not too likely since this was the first year you had it. i'd be very careful when digging it up tho - don't want to disturb any that are there.

if it does have babies, i'd leave them on and let it grow for another season and then split the babies off next fall.
by dodge on September 06, 2006 07:29 AM
ok

Thanks
I will do that.
