Hi all
I had planted a sweet potato in a pot of compost.I wanted to grow it as an activity for my son-well; there are roots growing out of the bottom of the pot but no shoots are visible. I thought it came out like a potato plant. Any ideas?

Sweet potatoes and regular white potatoes aren't closely related at all. How deep did you plant it? Sweet pot's like some of the tuber showing. If it's deep, gently take off the top inch or so of soil. You'll probably find vine shoots trying to come up.
