Anybody know anything about Porcelain Berry? It's sure pretty... & I sure don't wonder how it got it's name! Can cuttings be rooted, or can you only start it from seed? I know that it's invasive, but is it deer proof?

I have heard or understand that that plant
is on the invasive list...

The berries are prolific in reseeding..
either on their own or by birds..
who eat the berries, and in a sense
spit the seeds out where ever they go..

Weezie, I have no idea what the flowers looked like before the berries formed. An acquaintance of mine has them growing up over a fence & arbor... when I asked her what the flowers looked like she said, "It doesn't make flowers... just the berries"! (Huh? [nutz] Even I, who knows next-to-nothing about horticulture, know that without some sort of blossom, there wouldn't be a berry!)
Maybe I've found someone who actually knows less than I do!!! -

Just watch the berries..

and where the baby sprouts come up..
*although you have to have a good eye with
the birds taking them and scattering them...*

You're so right...
They may be so small or clustered under the leaves
that they aren't visiable too much [dunno] dunno???

I do remember this plant/vine on a gardening show that I watch Kathy Reinwald *or something like that* years ago, she was/is a Canadian Gardener...
and she had it, and those were her words as to it can be invasive, if not kept in check.
and it's hard to keep control over it cause of the birds eating, dropping and or pooping the seeds out.. and the vine grows up a tree and smothers it out in the wild.. in a matter of a few years.. [dunno]

So, does anybody know if they can be started from cuttings, or is the seed the only way that happens?
