I have been using black cedar mulch to keep my garden neat & weed free. It is now July & the local stores are out of cedar "a seasonal item her on Long Island"
So...in need of mulch, I bought a close look alike...Hamptons Mulch - organic.

Does anyone know what this is & if I should bother using it.

It smells sooooo bad.

I bought the much at home Depot. It is the brand of mulch & top soil that they sell & the type of mulch is called Hampton.

Try to air it out a bit on a tarp. It might just smell from the time it was sitting I would guess on the bottom of a wrapped in plastic pallet. When I went to buy a load of mulch it stunk too. It had been at the bottom or the pile. Its wood and subject to rot if not airated.

It doesn't matter where you go in life... It's who you have beside you when you get there.
