Yucca seed pods & ants

Well, the peony ants packed their bags when the peonies died back, and happened to find my yuccas, or something like that.

I'm watching these glorious fruits ripen on the yucca - I can taste the anticipation waiting to pluck them for the seeds. Since I can see them from my drive, I hadn't walked UP to them, until today - and spotted big ants all over the pods, some sticking their heads in holes bored into the pods...may be eating, may be 'laying eggs' or whatever those kind of ants do - I dunno. Is this normal and will I still be able to harvest the seeds when they're done with their business?

When they did that to the snapdragon seed pods there wasn't one seed left. Hope everything works out for you.
