I grow a few different mums.I also moved a few last year to a full sun bed.I bought a white daisy type yellow centers grows about 2 ft.i just pruned it and potted my cuttings in trough planter. In same bed is a orange/bronze colored mum.i bought it in one of them small .89 cent pots.It didn't grow real well& hubby mowed a few times also last year.I moved it to long bed for "safety reasons". Well it REALLY GREW& SPREAD& ITS TALL.Its almost 3 ft tall and it bloomed later than my others& seems lost the tag.I haven't came across its picture to get name their.I don't think its
helen".It does have buds lower down& am thinking can wait till july on this one(not all top flowers have faded yet)

I'VE never grown a tall variety like this one...so am unsure as to how far can cut this back.

^thats the 1st "?"

I've heard of dis-budding to make plant fuller...which THIS one don't need(to make bushy that is)But was wondering if dis-budding would keep it more in control

^Thats "?" #2

And lastly.I'm way south& my mum is evergreen.due to its size....I'd like to relocate it....again(a bad habit I have) Would this be better in the Fall?or in the spring?it started blooming in April(**and for you northeners...mums bloom in spring&FALL when are deeper south...its a daylight thing**) We are wet in the winter/dry in the spring& summer sometimes for that matter.

I planted a buncha mums this year around my roses. Had no idea how to 'pinch' them and thought it was the same as deadheading [Confused] but after pinching, it really bushed out. I dont think I've ever seen the kind you have! Course I can't answer your questions though, sorry. Hopefully someone will be along soon that can.
