I was wondering how to divide a pink surprise lily? [Confused] I know I have at least 2 plants that bloom every year and would like to divide them to get a few more. How and when is the best time to do this? I read that they plants are dormant until it's time to bloom and I know that they already bloomed this spring. I just love the "surprise" of these lilies--are there other plants that bloom in a similiar fashion? By the way, I had to google these guys to learn their real name. Wasn't about to put up a post with 'naked ladies' on it!! [Embarrassed] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Thanks,
Sarah

[Big Grin] Yep, it would be pretty scary to Google that, too.

You can divide your Surprise Lilies by digging in the late spring as the foliage is dying down.
Separate the bulbs and then replant.
Divide mature clumps about every five years or whenever they get too crowded.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to write it down so I don't forget... I'm beginning to think I need a day planner dedicated to gardening!
