Does anyone have a clue how to germinate vanilla beans to grow an Orchid? A friend of mine has some of the seeds and we are so interested in giving it a shot. Please let us know if you have the information.

I read somewhere that the seeds need a certain type of fungus to germinate and once they germinate, because the seed is so small, it cannot support thr growth of the orchid seedling. I've seen people talk about orchid seedlings on tv. They all seemed to be growing in some sort of gel. Hope this helped. Let us know about your progress,
Kenny

Well my research yeilded another reason why they don't make good house plants lol. They don't start blooming until they are 10 feet tall. My apartment just couldn't handle that no matter what.

It sure would have been nice though.
