I am having a problem with my 12-15 year old rhododendron, the leavves are turning yellow and new growth appears shriveld up and dying. Is this a sign a bug is attacking the shrub? Need help !

How long do they live? Maybe it's just too old now?

Have you had frost yet? If the new growth was tender it could have been damaged by frost. Yellowing and dropping of 2 year old leaves is normal this time of year, but this year's leaves should remain green and should remain on the branch until next year. The younger leaves will be near the ends of the branches and the 2 year leaves a bit closer to the center of the bush.
