My clematis trellis is old wooden window inserts (these went between 2 window panes for the illusion of multiple panes) nailed to the side of my garage.

I did the same thing except I wasn't smart enough to put a frame around them like you have. Yours looks a million times better. Very nice.

I found them that way, framed. They were in the basement of my last house when I bought it.

I have seen an old gate hung on a wall and used the same way you have, never thought of your idea though, looks good!!!!
