I have maple tree in my back yard that is about 150 years old - a real biggie!
It is suddenly very sick. This spring it got leaves all over - very nice tree - then about 3 weeks ago, the top 2/3 of the tree turned yellow, then brown, and dropped off. The bottom 1/3 of the tree seems to be ok, except for 2 little clusters of brown leaves.

We are hoping that the drought is the cause, however, there is a healthy yellow poplar about 25 feet away. We also have 2 healthy maples in our front yard.

Has anyone had this problem with an old established maple tree? [tears]
