peace garden

I am currently working at a Youth Garden and have taken over the project of creating and beautifying our Peace Garden. Unfortunately I am not a long time gardener, and am not really sure what to plant. Any suggestions about flowers or trees symbolizing peace would be great as I'm currently feeling a bit overwhelmed.

I am very happy to hear about you doing this
for your youths and your community!!!
I will look up some info for you, I'm on my dinner break, I will click the email notification
button for me, and try to remind me if I goof up and get lost out in my garden,
I would very much like to find somethings for you!
It's not too often we hear of volunteer's for this type and would love to see alot more in every community....
And don't feel too over whelmed, take it one stem at a time, do you have other's that can help you deligate things to do and get and info and stuff??

Can you tell me some more about the theme of
Peace?
Is it peace amoung nations,
peace with a religion base??
Peace between people???
And how many other people are there to be able to help?
First I would say, have you spoke with all of these head helper's and discussed idea's with them?
And what's the size of the area you and your youth group are gardening in????
And soil and growing conditions, (ie; sun, shade, hill, in the town with alot of concrete around it?)
